Flower Giveaway!

If you've seen my latest work, you probably know that I'm obsessed with Tim's grunge roses.  I've made them in a variety of materials, including leather, paper, cardstock, grungeboard, chipboard, and now, a bandanna! They're just so much fun.  I think I made too many, so I'm giving this batch away! If you are interested, leave me a comment here letting me know or follow my blog.

    Your Corazon lo is what first caught my eye & I just HAD to check out more of your wonderful lo's - really love all the details you put into each one!! And what a gorgeous little boy you have :)
    I had no idea you could make flowers out of bandanas!! ALL your roses are beautiful!!

Poinsettia Wreath

I have accumulated so much ribbon lately that I was looking for ways to use it to make some holiday decor.  I remembered how my grandmother used to make wreaths for every holiday and I used to sit down in her kitchen table and look at her beautiful creations.  I clearly remembered the Day of the Dead wreaths she made with crepe paper, wire, and ribbon.   In my nostalgia I thought about using my ribbon to decorate a wreath.  I had some cardboard left over and I drew a circle and cut it out to use it as the base.  Then I started scrunching up the wired ribbon all around. I used glue to keep it into place and mini brads on some parts, just to keep it in place but I took them away when it was dry. The poinsettias are from Michael's.  They have stems with 3-4 poinsettias for like $1.99.  I kept the palette soft and used white and gold poinsettias.  By the way, did you know poinsettias come from Mexico? A Scrappy New Year...

I wish everyone a very happy and scrappy 2011!! I've been slow on recovering from all the traveling and holiday busyness.  To be quite honest, I thought I had lost my inspiration!  For some reason I'm into minimalistic stuff right now, maybe I'm just lazy, but it poses an interesting challenge, to create something beautiful without much adornment.  Here's my latest batch of layouts. I recently signed up to get the Limited Edition kit from My Creative Scrapbook and I'm smitten so far! The kit was very reasonably priced and had so many goodies! No add-ons and I got very very cool papers, flowers, embellishments and fibers.  I had already bought the Night Divine collection, but it's always good to have more than one of these incredibly beautiful papers.
