Christmas Cards

Hello dear bloggers! I know it's been a while.  But I finally got a break from graduate school! This has been a difficult year, but I am happy to come back to the crafty world and create some Christmas cards for friends and family! So here you go!

Handmade Christmas Trees

Hi Dear Crafty Friends, It has been a long time... This hiatus had to do with my very demanding semester of graduate school work.  I moved in June, and then took my general degree examinations in September (3 days of grueling testing).  Then took my oral examinations and wrote my dissertation prospectus.  Ah, and almost forgot, submitted about 15 applications for internship.  Yes, it has been a very long and very hard couple of months and my craft suffered during this time.   But yesterday my son saw some Christmas trees and he asked me if he could have one.  I turned to pinterest for inspiration and voila, I made our very own mini Christmas trees.  Here they are:  Super easy to make... I used cereal boxes as my base! I used wired glittered ribbon on the one at the far left and glued it with a hot glue gun.  Then used some nice trimmings on the rest of them.  All in all this was such a great chance to get back to my crafts!   TFL and hope to see you soon!

Thank you Cards

Hi dear bloggers, finally here to share some crafty work! I recently moved and you know how that is... took a while to get all my crafty stuff organized.  I was asked to make some thank you cards for a school donor and I think I took it overboard, as I created so many!  But the ones not used will be donated to OWH...  So here they are! I used a big and bold sentiment from Papertrey Ink.  Papers from Pink Paislee Daily Junque and Prima Camelot flower   A more soft and shabby chic design, using papers from Melissa Frances, sentiment from Ali Edwards for Technique Tuesday.    Another card using papers from Pink Paislee Daily Junque.  Sentiment from Big & Bold collections by Papertrey Ink.   I think this one is my favorite! I used papers from Melissa Frances and a flower from Prima. Stamp from Big & Bold sentiments by Papertrey Ink.    For this card I used papers from Pink Paislee too, stamp by Papertrey Ink.  Prima flower, Ribbon from American Crafts. S

Hi everyone! Just want to share some cards I made for OWH.  It's my new passion... making cards takes such a different approach! Especially the ones I donate to OWH because there are certain guidelines about chunky embellies and the such (basically no chunky embellies or glitter).  I gotta tell you, I used mostly scraps here! So proud of myself when I do that! For this card I used a Stampabilities stamp, and papers from Sweet Tooth from Bo Bunny.  The star is from Pebbles.    The sentiment is a stamp from Waltzingmouse Stamps, image and pps from Sweet Tooth by Bo Bunny.   Stamp from Tim Holtz Visual Artistry (jalopy) and the sentiment is from 'Father knows best' by Papertrey Ink.   Stamp from Papertrey Ink.   Recollections stamp (sentiment), pps and image from Sweet Tooth by Bo Bunny.   Heart from Stampabilities, sentiment from Waltzingmouse stamps collection.     Papers from Country Garden collection by Bo Bunny.  DA chippie cut in half, covered

Card Extravaganza!

I know I have been MIA for the past month or so, but I have been so extremely busy and stressed out with school.  It was so hard to slow down and learn to do the best I can and only that.  You see I tend to be a perfectionist, but it is getting to me.  So I stopped doing the one thing that is relaxing for me.  Spring break for us begins today, so I'm taking a little bit of time to post some of the things I've done in the last week.   I was in the mood to make cards and decided to make some and donate them to OWH.  This nonprofit sends blank cards to deployed military members so they can write home to their families.  You will see the cards are very simple, as in the past I had gone all out with chunky embellies and was told that as beautiful as these embellies are they don't travel all those thousands of miles very well. So I decided to keep things simple but trying to add some texture and details here and there.   The first card is made with papers from Pink Paislee Da
